A stunning Jaguar C-X75 that was used in the James Bond movie Spectre is now up for sale. Designed and developed to celebrate Jaguar’s 75th anniversary, the C-X75 never made it to production despite efforts by Jaguar to make it happen. Only five prototypes were produced, one of which was used by the Bond movie’s big baddie, Mr. Hinx. The cost of the C-X75 is by appointment only. That’s fancy lingo for “if you have to ask, you probably can’t afford it.”

A car that was supposed to be rare — Jaguar initially planned to produce 250 units to celebrate its 75th anniversary — ended up being much rarer with only five prototypes known to exist. Three of the prototypes have already been sold, with the rest being retained by Jaguar and used for stunt work in the movie Spectre. Williams Advanced Engineering was brought in to help build the car with a number of unique features, including a space frame and a rally suspension unit that was installed to accommodate camera placement during the movie’s filming. Naturally, all four stunt cars share little with the C-X75’s original design.

That much is clear when you look inside this particular model. All of the luxury amenities and the exotic materials have been replaced by a bare-as-bones cabin that includes a central console with switches that are specific to stunt driving. It even has a long shifter similar to the ones used on rally cars, as clear a sign as any that this isn’t a “normal” Jaguar C-X75, even by the model’s super exclusive standards. It’s a stunt car, plain and simple.

That said, this model reportedly has a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 engine. It also has only 500 miles on its odometer. That’s the equivalent of a car that’s as good as new, but given the purpose of this specific C-X75 as a stunt car, there’s no telling how hard this particular model was run to the ground.

Still, it’s not often that you see a functioning Jaguar C-X75. It may not be like the concept that we first saw at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. It may not even be like the five prototypes that Jaguar built. But it is a C-X75. And it appeared in a James Bond movie. Put all of that together, and the provenance is strong with this particular model.
