Scrambling to complete your holiday shopping in time for Christmas Eve? Run out of ideas? We’ve all been there and we know how frustrating it can be. Fortunately, Aston Martin->ke13 is swooping in to save the day after announcing that its Aston Martin on Ice event is returning in February 2015.

Similar to Lamborghini’s->ke44 Winter Accademia program, Aston Martin On Ice gives drivers a chance to try out the company’s lineup of sports cars->ke506 in the backdrop of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, far removed from the usual urban jungles prospective participants are accustomed to. Instead of nicely laid asphalt roads, Aston Martin prepared a venue in Creste Butte, Colorado to stage the event.

The course includes everything drivers would want in a program of this sort. There’s a full circuit, a skid pad, a slalom course, and a braking and cornering exercise loop. Throw in Aston Martin’s finest vehicles and its roster of expert drivers and you have the perfect recipe for another scintillating three-day bespoke driving experience that only a company like Aston Martin can provide.

Should you be interested in participating in the 2015 staging of Aston Martin Once Ice, you can contact Aston Martin Driving at concierge@astonmartindriving.com for the full scope of details.

Why it matters

It's important to remember that these programs aren't meant to turn everyday drivers into full-fledged race car drivers. So if you're expecting to become the next Lewis Hamilton after attending Aston Martin on Ice, then you'll be sorely disappointed.

But if you're clear on your expectations, a program like this could end up becoming one of the best three-day experiences you'll ever have. The picturesque backdrop of the Colorado Rocky Mountains is the perfect setting for participants to enjoy the thrill of driving a lineup of Aston Martin models in an environment that not everyone gets to experience.

The Aston Martin on Ice program is also the first of a number of Aston Martin bespoke driving experiences that are expected to take place across the U.S. this year. As far as first offerings are concerned, the eclectic blend of ice-driving activities is about as good as it gets.

Aston Martin Vanquish Volante

Aston Martin hasn't released the exact models that will be available to drive as part of the program, but there's reason to be optimistic that the Vanquish Volante will be a part of the festivities.

It would certainly be one of the most popular models on the scene, thanks to its uncompromising combination of style and substance, rolled into one incredible convertible package. The newest Vanquish Volante arrived in 2013 at a time when Aston Martin’s future was in doubt. Turns out, the Vanquish Volante did more than give Aston a spectacular new model; its arrival also showed that Aston Martin was still capable of building an incredible sports car that looked like a million bucks and had the performance capabilities of an all-conquering roadster.

Under its hood, the Vanquish Volante is powered by a 5.9-liter, V-12 engine that packs 565 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the two rear wheels by a Touchtronic II, six-speed, automatic transmission, allowing the sports car to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds to go with a top speed of 183 mph.

The 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante has a starting price of $297,995.
