British sports car manufacturer Aston Martin->ke13 has dropped cover on its outrageous new hypercar, the Vulcan, and for all intents and purposes, it’s shaping up to be one of the most extreme performance vehicles on the planet. Only 24 will be sold worldwide.

The track-day special comes bearing a naturally aspirated, 7.0-liter V-12 monster of a powerplant. Specific figures have not yet been announced, but Aston says it’ll pump out over 800 horsepower.

The layout is a front mid-engine, RWD design, drawing from Aston’s extensive GT racing experience. The Vulcan is built using a carbon-fiber monocoque and body, which will endow it with a power-to-weight ratio exceeding those of GTE cars in the FIA’s World Endurance Championship.

Additional racing bits include a limited-slip differential, magnesium torque tube with a carbon-fiber drive shaft, and carbon-ceramic disc brakes from Brembo measuring 15-inches in the front and 14.2-inches in the rear. A mid-mounted Xtrac six-speed sequential-shift transmission routs the power to 19-inch wheels and Michelin race tires.

Pushrod suspension with anti-dive geometry are used in conjunction with Multimatic’s Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve (DSSV) dampers for high levels of adjustment. The handling package also includes driver-adjustable, anti-lock brakes and variable traction control. The car will comply with all relevant FIA safety rules.

Owners will be offered an “intensive track driver training” program prior to taking delivery. Racers like Le Mans->ke1591-winner Darren Turner will be on hand to assist in personal development as drivers progress to the Vulcan cockpit by way of the V12 Vantage S, One-77,->ke3246 and Vantage GT4.

Additional details will be released closer to the Vulcan’s track debut later this year.
