The Audi TT-RS->ke3038 is a very successful model on the European market, hence the reason why US customers signed a petition to get that bad boy over to our side of the pond. Now, we have our American version which comes with a $56,850 price tag, but the RS story doesn't look like it will be ending there.

Audi has announced that the TT-RS is just one of the RS models they plan to bring to the USA. Following the more powerful TT->ke1081, the US will be getting the RS5->ke2628, which will then lead to a few more other RS models - the RS6->ke1305 being the most logical next step.

"We’re now taking the first steps with the TT RS and the RS 5," Audi sales head Peter Schwarzenbauer told Bloomberg. "I could indeed imagine that we’ll continue along that route in the future."

2012 Audi TT-RS American Version

The Audi TT-RS American version is powered by the same turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine as the European model. However, unlike the European model, the American version will deliver an extra 20 HP (up to a total of 360 HP) and will only be mated to a new manual six-speed transmission. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph will be made in just 4.6 seconds, and after removing the speed limiter, we expect a top speed of around 175 mph.

2011 Audi RS5

The Audi RS5 is powered by a turbocharged V8 engine with a total output of 450 bhp at 8250 rpm and a maximum output of 317 lbs-ft of torque between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a seven-speed S tronic transmission that can operate in fully automatic mode – or the driver can shift via the innovative selector lever or shift paddles on the steering wheel.

The car weighs only 3,802 lbs and sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. Top speed is limited to 155 mph, but it can be increased to 173 mph.

When the RS5 arrives in the USA, it is expected to be priced at about $80K.
