After making its world debut in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Audi R8 GT Convertible will be making its North American debut next month at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Sales will start at the beginning of 2012 with prices to start from around $220k.

The R8 GT Convertible is powered by a 5.2 liter V10 engine that delivers a total of 560 HP and 398 lbs-ft of torque. It will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and will be capable of a top speed of 196.97 mph.

The biggest news however is that next to the R8 GT Convertible, Audi->ke14 plans to reveal 12 new models in the next 12 months. First to arrive will be a facelift A4->ke1087 and the new generation A3. Both will be revealed at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. A facelift version for the R8 is also expected next year and so is the RS1. The RS6, the RS5 Convertible and the production version for the R8 E-tron are also expected to debut in 2012.

That's pretty much all we know at this point. We guess Audi still has some surprises for us!
