The Porsche 911 Turbo S and the Audi R8 V10 Plus may be distant cousins, but there’s no mistaking that the two everyday supercars->ke177 regard each other as the other’s biggest rival. On the technical side, both the 911->ke282 and the R8 V10->ke1440 have their advantages. The R8 V10, for instance, has more power at its disposal with 602 horsepower on tap. The 911 Turbo S,->ke571 on the other hand, isn’t quite there at “just” 552 horsepower.

But if this comp is based this strictly on output, then what’s the point of continuing, right? The truth is that picking between the 911 Turbo S and the R8 V10 Plus is like picking between two equally potent exotics. You really can’t go wrong with either one, but in case you’re struggling to make a choice, the latest episode of Evo’s “Deadly Rivals” series should give you a clearer idea on what both cars have to offer.

Evo road test editor Dan Prosser takes the helm on this episode and put both the 911 Turbo S and the R8 V10 on a gruelling test run. Both left impressionable marks on the Prosser, resulting in what can only be described as a dead heat comparison. If you want something that’s a little more refined, the 911 Turbo S can fill that void. But if you’re looking for something that’s a little edgier to drive, the R8 V10 Plus is as good a supercar as any to get you where you need to go.
