Word has come down that the AutoMobility L.A. tradeshow that kicks off before the Autoshow it is set to host at least 50 debuts during between November 14 and November 17 this year. At least 20 of the vehicles showing up during this massive debut event will be Global debuts, one of which is a 3D-printed supercar from Divergent 3D called the Blade. As L.A. hosts one of the biggest auto show venues of the year, it’s pretty much expected that just about every manufacturer will debut or make some kind of significant announcement, but this year is looking to be huge.

Among the manufacturers making major debuts, Chevy will be showing off at least two new vehicles, while other manufacturers like Alfa Romeo, Mazda, Mini, and Jeep will be making global debuts. Porsche previously announced that it is skipping the Detroit Auto Show, and that makes complete sense now, as it has confirmed a total of five debuts in L.A. this year. Infiniti, Jaguar, Smart, and Mercedes-Benz, among others, have also confirmed at least one reveal.

Remember that funky, three-wheeled P5 prototype that Elio Motors brought to L.A. last year? Well, it is coming back this year as well, and it will be accompanied by a new sibling, the Elio Motors E1C. Meanwhile, Local Motors is bringing its self-driving Olli shuttle that’s already in use on public roads in Washington D.C., and Jeep is confirmed a compact SUV will be making its Global debut. Obviously, major details are still up in the air, but we’ll be watching closely and will bring the latest news to you on the upcoming show as it becomes available, so stay tuned.

Why it Matters

There’s something about seeing something in the metal (or in some cases, the carbon fiber or plastic) that really gets the blood flowing. Here at TopSpeed, we’re planning on having staff on the scene during the AutoMobility convention and during the auto show, so be sure you check back with us frequently for updates and, once the convention and show kicks off, photos and video from the scene. We’re looking forward to it. Are you? Let us know what you hope to see during the show this year in the comments section below.
