Ever fancy yourself owning a Ferrari F40 at least once in your lifetime? It might be hard to get the real thing these days because those cost eight figures easy, but if you want something that looks like a Ferrari F40, I invite you to check out this coffee table from design store Discommon. It’s not exactly an F40, but the imagery is that of the iconic Ferrari supercar. And keeping its spirit in mind, the coffee table comes with a startling starting price of — get this — $20,000.

There’s something mesmerizing about seeing a table like this with the silhouette of a Ferrari F40 rising on top of what looks like a vat of liquid metal. It’s not exactly on the level of a T-1000, but it’s awfully close. Part of what makes this table unique — and expensive — is that Discommon actually uses 6061 aerospace-grade aluminum to create the table. For those who are unfamiliar with it, 6061 aluminum is a precipitation-hardened alloy that’s commonly used in the construction of aircraft components, including the wings and fuselages. It’s also used in building yachts and cars, including as the chassis of the Audi A8.

For such a strong material, a coffee table is probably the last thing you’d think of as an item that can be built from this type of aluminum. And yet, Discommon has them in various designs. In addition to the F40 table, there’s also a Ford GT table that costs around the same as the F40 table. Only ten units of the F40 table are being made available, so if you’re interested in spending $20,000 on this table, now’s a good time to go to the store’s website and make your interest known. Should you want something else other than what the company is offering, you can actually commission your own table. You can choose the design, surface finish, texture plans, vehicle design, and even pick out the kind of hard-anodized color you want.

If this isn’t your cup of tea, you can move on to the next quirky auto-themed item to catch our attention. We don’t know what that’s going to be, but we hope it doesn’t cost as much as this coffee table.
