The Ford Mustang->ke428 may have a glowing reputation here in the U.S., but across the pond, that reputation isn’t as polished. Part of that can be traced back to Ford->ke31 and its hesitancy in sending the muscle car->ke507 in that part of the world. As important as the U.K. market is to the company, it has mainly used it as a haven for performance-oriented hot hatchbacks->ke304 like the Focus RS.->ke438

But, that has changed with the sixth-generation Ford Mustang. Not only is the Mustang heading to the U.K., it will come, as our mates over there love to say, with the steering wheel on the “proper side.” We can agree to disagree about that, but the fact is that the Mustang’s arrival in the U.K. has been met with tremendous excitement, as evidenced by the long wait list for the muscle car.

Fortunately, our friends over at Carfection don’t have to wait too long to get their hands on one. Alex Goy was recently given a chance to test drive the Mustang GT and somewhat surprisingly, he actually had glowing things to say about the car. Sure, there are the usual zings and complaints like the cheap plastics on the interior and it being a handful to drive, but for the most part, everything about the Mustang, knocks and all, is well appreciated by one of Britain’s most respected auto presenters.

I don’t want to spoil too much of what Goy said because the video is worth the eight minutes you’re going to spend watching it. We’ve seen and heard a lot of Americans give their two cents on the new Mustang. Now it’s our British friend’s turn. And, in this case, Goy definitely had a lot to say about it.
