Our friends at AutoTopNL are back at it again, this time testing out some of Germany’s top four-door coupe’s in a battle of straight-line speed. Taking up the gauntlet this time around is the BMW 440i Gran Coupe xDrive and Audi S5 Sportback Quattro. Who will come out on top?

Taking It To The Max

The Bimmer lays down 326 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, all thanks to a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder. Meanwhile, the Audi produces 354 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque thanks to a 3.0-liter V-6, which is also turbocharged.

Plant your foot into the carpet, and the BMW does the 0-to-60 mph run in 5 seconds flat. That means the Audi manages to beat the Bimmer in the benchmark, as the Four-Ring machine does the same test in about 4.7 seconds. However, AutoTopNL doesn’t stop there, taking both machines close to their 155-mph electronically limited top speeds.

The video puts it all on display with a multitude of angles, including shots outside the cars, close-ups on the gauge clusters, and a driver’s point-of-view inside the cabin. As you probably expect, the videos include plenty of good sounds as well, with revs and wide-open throttles making up the soundtrack.

The real question is - which would you rather have?
