For the first time in a very long time, the Mustang->ke428 is a big deal in Europe. The pony car is finally a global product, and the British automotive press have collectively been marveling at the fact that it will even be available with right-hand drive. Those who follow Chris Harris closely will know that he is especially excited about this, and here we have a video->ke278 of him driving one of these new right-hand-drive 2016 Ford Mustangs on actual British roads. He also takes it to the track a bit, because every sports car->ke506 test requires some of that.

Chris Harris has expressed a love for a well-made muscle car->ke507 in the past, and it shouldn't come as too big a shock that he really loves the new Mustang. He admits that it isn't going to take too many sales away from BMW,->ke178 but as it costs half as much as a 2016 BMW M3, he also points out that it isn't meant to. He spends a lot of time talking about the independent rear axle, but the rear axle has always been a big issue for Europeans when it comes to the Mustang, so it's to be expected.

2015 Ford Mustang

A few years a ago, I was at the Geneva Motor Show->ke228 when the 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 was first shown in Europe. I was even there for one day of the show being open to the public, and one of the most interesting things that I witnessed was the crowd around the Challenger->ke249 being bigger than those around the also-new 2011 Pagani Huayra, the 2010 Koenigsegg Agera or the trio of cars Bugatti->ke16 had brought to the show. Young French guys in baggy clothes and baseball caps just stood there, transfixed by the muscle car. It's true that a lot of Europeans turn their noses up at American muscle, with Jeremy Clarkson as their spokesman, but it's not difficult to find plenty of them who love these cars, and Ford has just made a lot of them very happy.
