Chrysler has decided to attempt to cut costs by moving to a four day work week at its Jeep plant in Toledo. Employees would work four 10-hour days, allowing them to continue a 40-hour work week. Chrysler states that, by closing for one day, they will be able to bring down the total energy cost of running the plant.

Chrysler feels that Jeep's 3,800 employees, who are currently in the middle of a two month shut down, will most likely embrace the idea since it will give them a three day weekend.
