cobb-tuning-cracks-gt-r-s-speed-limiter
Shortly after Nissan assured everyone that the GT-R’s speed limiter is uncrackable here comes the US-based COBB tuning to defy the automaker and to demonstrate that everything can be tracked. Even if it is a very sophisticated and difficult encryption on the ECU, the American tuning company has cracked the speed limiter and they are already working on some other modifications including the fuel-mapping and boost pressure controls.
The [Nissan GT-R->https://www.topspeed.com/search.html?ps=10&recherche=nissan+gt-r&Submit.x=0&Submit.y=0&Submit=search] is limited to 180km/h except the situation when the car detects you at a race track. But after COBB cracked the speed limiter the company started undertaking in-house testing and confirmed that they are confident that everything will be well prepared by the time North American spec cars arrive and also well practiced in the art of tuning the GT- R’ s ECU. With the speed limiter removed the GT-R can achieve a claimed 193 mph.
For those who believed that customizing the GT-R was the only objective of this company, it looks like COBB has a number of modified ECUs also for Nissan’s 350Z and Infiniti’s G37. The offer for the cars also includes high-flow intake and exhaust systems, customized suspension kits as well as carbon-fiber accessories.
