This is as scandalous as an iCloud leak. There are pictures on every other website. And, it’s of a very well-known celeb. Earlier this week, an image of the alleged new BMW 3 Series started surfacing the auto world. The car under the covers boasts the larger-than-life kidney grille with chrome outers, so it seems to be the upcoming M340i M Performance model. The very same one that is expected to debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.

This. Is. It!

Power will be sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission system, with xDrive likely as an option. There’s no word on the manual transmission yet, but I sincerely hope they offer it.

The new BMW G20 3 Series is a complete step up over the predecessor. LED headlamps are provided as standard, while laser lights are optional. The new G20 3 Series will also be offered with enhanced autonomous driving systems. The top-trim M340i will be offered with a Limited Slip Differential as optional equipment.

Has The New G20 Family Gotten More Powerful?

The base 318i trim of the new-generation gets 16 horses more than the current generation. Move up the ladder, and the 320i will offer 23 additional ponies, along with an optional all-wheel-drive system.

The diesel engines are an improvement as well; with the base 316d now offering 136 horsepower, and 318d offering 163 horsepower. An increase of 22 horses and 15 horses is quite a significant bump over the current correspondents. Two gasoline hybrids are also in the pipeline – 325e iPerformance and 330e iPerformance – with 2.0-liter engines. The former will generate 230 horses, while the latter will produce 264 ponies.

The new BMW 3 Series is expected to hit the markets later this year, perhaps immediately after the Paris Motor Show. If you were in the market for a BMW 3 Series, which trim would you pick, and why? Tell us in the comments section below.
