There's something to be said for a country that doesn't lack in wealthy people to have a police department with a patrol car like this.

In yet another example of Dubai's fascination for high-priced exotic cars, the country's police department has taken delivery of a patrol car unlike any other: a Lamborghini Aventador.

Now, understand. Supercar's aren't that uncommon in Dubai so it might be a good idea for the police to go after these exotics with an exotic of its own. You know, to “level the playing the field.”

But that doesn't take away from the bombastic nature of having a 700-horsepower Italian supercar with a six-figure price tag serving as a law enforcement vehicle. It's not out of the stretch of the imagination that these Aventador will be mostly a "display" police car and won't be used in official duty.

But still, there's a level of unrest seeing car like this in your rearview mirror with its lights flashing.

KTM X-Bow Police Cruiser by MTM

Only in Monaco, considered the playground of the rich, richer, and richest, will you come across a police car like this. Tuned to make even the Ferraris and Lamborghinis of the world quake in fear, the MTM-tuned X-Bow police car comes with 400 horsepower coming out of a 2.0-liter engine, which was installed in a car whose overall weight hits the scales at just 1,700 pounds, thus yielding "only" 4.25 lbs per horsepower. In case you didn't know the only car that has a lower weight-per-horsepower number is the Bugatti Veyron.

Maserati GranCabrio Politie Edition

It may not be in operation as an actual police car, but there's something to be said for a Maserati GranCabrio - a convertible! - that has been dressed in the livery of the Dutch police. The only thing we can't seem to grasp, in the event this police car is forced into service, is how the police can install those emergency lights normally place in the roof. Then again, it's a Maserati GranCabrio!

Ferrari FF Beverly Hills Police Officers Association Ball Edition

Another for-show-only, police-dressed supercar; this Ferrari FF was actually dressed in the same two-tone, black-and-white colors of law enforcement agencies. The supercar was commissioned for the Beverly Hills Police Officers Association Ball by the Black and White Car Rental Beverly Hills. Thank your lucky stars that this exotic isn't patrolling the streets.
