When you are one the premier drivers in Formula One->ke662 like Felipe Massa, you can drive just about any car in the world you want. Despite having left his old F1 team of Ferrari->ke252 for a seat at Williams, Massa was recently spotted in Monaco with the keys to another Prancing Horse, the LaFerrari.->ke4626

Spanish site, Auiobuild.es recently grabbed some pictures of the Brazilian outside of a fancy hotel on the stunning Monaco coast as he was getting out of his shiny new Ferrari LaFerrari. It seems that despite his departure with the Scuderia, Maranello was still willing to let Massa take home the keys to the limited edition->ke3060 super-hybrid. More than that, Felipe’s particular LaFerrari comes with some very nice extra details. The black exterior paint is accentuated with gray on the lowest aerodynamic bodywork, and each piece is trimmed in a subtle red pinstripe around the edge. The red also can be seen on the mirror mounts, and there are red accents on the black leather interior as well.

It may seem weird to see a driver from a competing team behind the wheel of a Ferrari, but I like to think that on-track rivalry shouldn’t preclude someone from owning one of the best road cars available in the world right now.

Why It Matters

Ferrari is unbelievable strict when it comes to allowing people to buy their most high end cars. When it came to the LaFerrari, you had to be invited to purchase one by Ferrari. To see that there is no bad blood between the Prancing Horse and their former driver demonstrates a great amount of good taste and sportsmanship. The fact they let the Brazilian order it with bespoke options speaks even further to the fact that there was no love lost when Massa left the Scuderia for a seat at Williams.

Ferrari LaFerrari

The Ferrari LaFerrari is one of the fastest and most advanced cars on the road today. It is also the fastest and most powerful road car Ferrari has ever built. It features a combination of a V-12 engine and a F1-stlye HY-KERS hybrid system to produce an astonishing 963 horsepower. The result is a machine that will hit 60 mph in less than 3 seconds, and continue up to a top speed of more than 217 mph. One of the most impressive performance statistics include the fact that it will run from a dead stop to 300 kph, that’s 186 in the Queen’s English, in just 15-seconds flat.

Only 499 of these impressive cars will ever be made, and every one of them has already found a home.
