Ferrari announced that a cabriolet version of the 599 GTB Fiorano will be unveiled in August at the Pebble Beach concourse, California. Like the 575 Superamerica launched in 2005, the new 599 cabrio will be offered in limited numbers and was described by Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo as a roadster.

The car will feature a folding-metal roof and will develop an extra 25 HP in order to counteract its extra weight. However when talking about its name, Ferrari boss said: "It will have an emotional, romantic name such as Italia or Fiorano."

He also confirmed that the company is preparing a spider version for the 458 Italia and that it will be revealed next year, but sales will begin in the next few years. A successor for the four-seat 612 Scaglietti has also been confirmed.

So if you’ve already booked your trip for Pebble Beach this year, we suggest you keep a look out for a spanking new Ferrari that is definitely going to attract its fair share of attention.
