Ferrari->ke252 has never been shy about its muscle-flexing tendencies so it comes as little surprise, at least to us, that Maranello appears to be building a special-edition LaFerrari. As if the LaFerrari isn't special enough.
Apparently, Ferrari is tinkering with the idea of building a LaFerrari specialist because the exclusive supercar->ke177 was pretty damn hard to buy. It sounds confusing but demand for the LaFerrari was so high that those who couldn't buy one were all left clamoring for the company to make some more. Little did they know that Ferrari was already thinking about appeasing these people after CEO Luca di Montezemolo let the cat out of the bag at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show->ke228.
According to Autocar, Montezemolo said that a lot of Ferrari's customers were "disappointed not to be able to own a LaFerrari," but quickly followed that up by saying "we expect to have something special to offer them soon."
So what is this "something," exactly?
The first car that came to our mind was the LaFerrari EVOXX. To be fair, the company has given no indication that it's building a track-focused version of the already powerful LaFerrari, but we know Maranello's tendencies, specifically when it comes to showing the world just how awesome it is. So we're confident that an EVOXX is in the cards for the LaFerrari at some point in the future. Could this be what Montezemolo was alluding to when he talked about "something special?"
We won't know until a confirmation is made, but we certainly won't be surprised if the LaFerrari EVOXX comes to fruition. Until then, you can see our earlier rendering of what we thing the LaFerrari EVOXX would look like.

Few details are known about a future Ferrari LaFerrari EVOXX, but should it happen, we expect to see a treatment similar to what we saw with the 599XX Evolution . Translated, this means we're anticipating a whole lot of aerodynamic improvements, some white racing strips plus a different rear wing with two flaps.
Next to the exterior changes, the EVOXX version will most likely alsop deliver a significant increase in horsepower and will be lighter than the standard version, something that doesn't seem possible given how ridiculously powerful the LaFerrari already is.
But that's the challenge for Ferrari now, and judging by its track record, it shouldn't have any problems acing this one.
