Fiat's plans for making its way over to the States is in full force. Last month, Fiat announced that the company will offer a four-door version of the 500 for the US market. Now, we are hearing rumors that they will offer a 5-door variant to be called the Seicento ("600" in Italian) that will be unveiled at the end of 2011. We remember the Fiat 500->ke1708's older sibling, the 600, which, when originally designed, was not offered as a 5-door mini MPV. The Fiat 600 was known as the family version of the Fiat->ke30 500 at that time and now will incorporate a longer wheelbase and an increase in width to fit that bill better. This extra room will offer enough space for the rear seat passengers, but not enough room for their baggage unless a sliding back seat is utilized. Of course, this will probably not be top choice for a family car considering its not so spacious interior. We could call this car cute and fun, but not family oriented.

Besides these differences, the 600 will in fact be the same as the 500: a new twin gasoline Twin Air engine developing between 65 to 105 hp.
