In a previous statement Fisker spokesman Russell Datz announced that the "first few customers" will get Karma vehicles by the end of the year, with full production to start in the first three months of 2011. Apparently this will not happen. As you might know, Fisker is currently having some financial problems and those problems will be delaying these deliveries.

Last month, Fisker->ke3016 reported that it had already raised $35 million from private equity to fund and build the Karma. Part of that federal funding will also go towards building 75,000 to 100,000 vehicles at its Wilmington, Del., plant starting in 2012.

The Karma is a plug-in hybrid that uses a lithium-ion battery pack to power two 200+ hp electric motors for about 50 miles. Once the juice runs out of the batteries, a GM-sourced 2.0-liter gas engine making 260 hp generates the electricity needed to power the sedan. Fisker says the Karma makes the 0 to 60 mph sprint in less than 6 seconds and can hit a top speed of more than 125 mph.
