When Ford->ke31 Europe announced the Ford Focus ST mountune, we couldn't help but envy the European car buyers. In fact, we went so far to say "Europeans get all of the automotive fun." Well, we can now eat our words, as mountune has just announced that it will expand its Ford partnership to the U.S. later this year.

What makes the transition to the U.S. very easy for mountune is the fact that it is headquartered in Southern California. This means that you don't have to worry about crazy tariffs and shipping fees by buying components from overseas.

Mountune stated that a new U.S. website will hit the web later in 2013 and that buyers can purchase parts direct from Ford Racing, mountune's website or any other authorized mountune dealers. We'll keep tabs on this topic and let you know once the site goes live. We certainly hope that this expansion will bring a Focus ST mountune to U.S.-based Ford dealers.

Moutune's latest project was to take the Focus ST to task and pulling more than the base 250 PS (246 horsepower) and 360 Nm (265 pound-feet) of torque from the turbocharged four-banger is a pretty tall task. mountune did just that by offering a kit that includes a cast-alloy inlet duct, a high-flow sports air filter, a larger intercooler, and an ECU recalibration.

This tune pushes the Focus ST to 275 PS (271 horsepower) and 400 Nm (295 pound-feet) of torque. This pushes the Focus ST to 60 mph to under 6 seconds -- down from 6.5 seconds -- for a base price of just £1,225 ($1,852).
