We already know that the 2015 North American International Auto Show is going to be an action-packed event. But as we’re drawing closer and closer to the show, we’re beginning to discover just how insane the show's going to be. And we’re just talking about what Ford’s->ke31 got in store for its hometown show.

Car and Driver and Road & Track are both reporting the Blue Oval's plans for the 2015 NAIAS and apparently, it involves the potential unveiling of its new hot hatch, the arrival of its next off-road destroyer, the announcement of a performance sub-brand, and the debut of the successor of its most iconic supercar.->ke177

The first bit of juicy details involves the new Ford Focus RS. Road & Track’s intel suggests that the new Focus RS is slated for a European show debut and it makes sense since the RS has been historically attributed as a European model. But according to Car and Driver, don’t be surprised if the Focus RS is unveiled in the Motor City, which could add weight to rumors that Ford’s ready to bring the RS to the U.S. We can hope, right?

While the Focus RS has been the subject of conflicting reports, both auto sites are in agreement that the new Ford F-150 SVT Raptor will break cover at Detroit. Not much is known about the next-generation desert prowler, but it does make a lot of sense for the Raptor to debut in Detroit as part of the armada of unveilings and announcements the company has in store for the show.

Speaking of announcements, the same reports indicate that the American automaker could also use the 2015 NAIAS to drop the curtain on a new performance sub-brand that would act as the company’s version of Mercedes’ AMG division. Details are scant on what Ford plans to do with the performance sub-brand, but if history is any indication, the company could use it to harmonize its lineup of performance vehicles under one name, rumored to be “999."

With everything that’s been said and reported about Ford’s plans for Detroit, we’re saving the best one for last. According to Car and Driver, the 2015 NAIAS could play host to the successor of the Ford GT supercar. The announcement couldn't come at a better time since 2016 is coming up, which so happens to be the 50th anniversary of the Ford GT40’s Le Mans win in 1966. No confirmation has been made on whether the successor to the GT is making its debut or if Ford’s just going to announce it.

Either way, the likelihood of us having to pick our jaws from the floor is very, very high.

While we're talking about Detroit debuts for Ford, we also need to mention that it's a safe bet to assume the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R! will make its debut there. This will serve as proof that the Shelby GT350's debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show->ke211 was merely a delectable appetizer to what's cooking up to be a hellacious main course.

If you thought the Shelby GT350 was awesome, the GT350R is reportedly going to make it look like a purring kitten. The latter is expected to pack new aerodynamic components, a revised interior, and a power improvement compared to its R-less namesake. All these modifications are likely why the Shelby GT350R is already being proclaimed as the fastest, most powerful and most track-focused factory Mustang->ke428 in history.

All told, Ford's ready to steal the show in Detroit and considering that the event is right smack in the middle of its own backyard, we shouldn't be surprised by any of these things the automaker has cooking for the event. Well, except for the potential successor of the Ford GT. That one's got us in a tizzy, as we're sure all of you are too.
