As the gaming world continues to lose its collective mind over the release of the Xbox One X, Turn 10 Studios is driving up the ante even more with the release of a new car pack for Forza Motorsport 7. Fittingly enough, the car pack is called “Samsung QLED TV,” which just so happens to run on 4K technology. Nice cross-promotion there, Microsoft.

Before I start deviating away from the topic at hand and weep over the spectacle that is 4K viewing, the car pack features a new set of cars that gamers can pluck into Forza 7, joining the hundreds upon hundreds of automobiles that are already available in the game. The pack comes with a mixed bag of characters, err cars, spanning different types and generations. Those who are into some modern machinery can now enjoy the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and the 2017 Abarth 124 Spider in the game while those who prefer the rough and rugged side of their Forza 7 experience can now play a 2015 Honda Ridgeline Baja Trophy truck or a Toyota Land Cruiser Arctic Truck AT37. Finally, there are also classic racers included in the pack for those who want some nostalgia to come with their gaming experience, specifically a 1957 Maserati 250F, a 1978 Porsche 935/78, and a 1984 Nissan Bluebird Super Silhouette, complete with Coca-Cola livery all over it.

All seven vehicles make up a pretty diverse car pack. It’s certainly no coincidence that the pack is being made available at exactly the same time as the release of the 4K-capable Xbox One X and the subsequent 4K update available for Forza 7. The long update process if by far the biggest headache of the launch, but once it’s up and running, there’s really no turning back. Forza 7 in native 4K is like playing with real cars, except that you’re on a couch using game controllers. It's pretty easy to imagine why a lot of people are probably going to be stuck on their couches this coming weekend.
