Car Magazine revealed today new details about the future R8 line-up. First to be launched will be the V10 version of the R8 sports car. It will debut in autumn this year, but it won't feature company’s trick twin-clutch gearbox.

It will be powered by RS6’s 5.0-litre V10 engine mated by the same six-speed manual and the R-tronic robotized manual from the current version.

Styling tweaks to the V10 R8 will be fairly limited, but will include the larger side air intakes to help cool the larger engine.

Next will be the R8 Spyder; it will debut in 2009 and it’s the last firmly decided R8 derivative, according to engineering sources in the company.

Audi already increased the production from 25 cars a day to 28, but the company announced there is no point to bring a diesel version in the future: "Why would we launch the R8 with the V12 TDI engine now, when our order books are full and we have the high-performance V10 coming? There is no firm production date yet for the diesel."
