Of course it's not the first time you hear about a future baby SLS AMG. Rumors about it started ever since Mercedes launched the SLS AMG, but the news today is that the baby SLS will be a hybrid model.

The German magazine AutoBild says nothing about the hybrid drivetrain, but we presume that it will combine a 4-cylinder diesel engine with an electric motor (like with the E300) or a 3.5 Liter Atkinson cycle V6 gasoline engine with two magneto electric motors (like with the ML450). But this are just rumors, we will need to wait for more official details.

On the other hand, previous rumors suggest that the baby model will get a fully electric powertrain like the SLS eDrive, meaning a total of four electric motors with a total output of 532 HP and an approximate 100 mile range.

The future baby SLS AMG will be launched in 2013 and will cost around $130,000.

Stay tuned for more details!
