When you take your lead sled to the same shop that produced the Venom GT,->ke4149 which earned its way into the book of Guinness World Records as the fastest production car in the world back in 2013, you expect a certain level of performance as a result. As such, Texas-based tuner Hennessey Performance->ke1863 has all kinds of packages available for speed-hungry customers, including the HPE800 Supercharged Upgrade for the ‘14/’15 Camaro Z/28. Seen here blasting around Lonestar Motorsports Park, Hennessey’s next-door testing grounds, this bow tie looks like it should satisfy all but the craziest of power junkies.

That’s because the 800 references the amount of horsepower churned out by the rear wheels. So then, what does it take to coax that much output from the stock 7.0-liter LS7 V-8? A parts list includes forged aluminum pistons, forged steel rods, a 2.9-liter supercharger system, a high-flow intercooler system, high-flow fuel injectors, ported cylinder heads, upgraded valvetrain components, a custom camshaft, stainless steel headers, high-flow catalytic converters, and a custom ECU tune. Also included in the package is a vital dual-disc clutch upgrade, exterior badging, interior bits and bobbles, and a 1-year/12,000-mile limited warranty.

It’s a pretty sweet deal, but if you somehow find 800 horsepower to be a bit less than what you’re looking for, Hennessey also has the HPE1000 kit. I’ll let you guess how much power that one makes. Check it out on the dyno here.

Chevrolet Camaro Z28

Muscle cars->ke507 and road courses don’t always make for the best pairing, but Chevy->ke199 wants to change that perception with the new Z/28. Taking its name from the SCCA competitor first introduced in 1967, this Camaro->ke248 boasts a significantly lightened chassis and improved suspension package to help it turn as well as it goes.

In the corners, you’ll find spool-valve dampers with four-way-adjustability -- a production car first -- as well as lightweight 19-inch wheels wrapped in gummy Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires that combine to create 1.05 g of lateral grip. The aluminum V-8 makes 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque from the factory, but is obviously ready and willing for more than a few mods for those feeling adventurous.
