Hennessey->ke1863 is well known for making fast cars, but the performance shop has been creating a name for itself in the truck world as well. You’ll likely recall the mighty VelociRaptor – the supercharged version of Ford’s->ke31 F-150 Raptor. Fans of the ill-fated Top Gear->ke1860 will get the chance to see this bright yellow truck on one of the last episodes set to debut by the end of 2015.

As a sneak-peak to the episode, John Hennessey, owner of Hennessey Performance Engineering, gives a walk-through of what his shop did to the Raptor before sending it overseas.

Up first was the supercharger. Matching the extra air forced into the 6.2-liter V-8 is a set of performance fuel injectors backed by an upgraded fuel system. The ECU was also reprogrammed to handle the extra horsepower. A free-flowing air intake system brings cool, clean air into the blower, while a cat-back exhaust allows for easier breathing. What’s more, the engine runs on pump gas and is fully smog compliant.

All told, the VelociRaptor makes a vicious 600 horsepower at the wheels, giving the truck unprecedented agility compared to any other truck. Matching the power is a set of steel bumpers front and rear, with the front bumper housing a winch. Up top is a LED light bar for seeing into the night.

Testing included tuning time on the dyno along with quarter-mile testing on the drag strip. Of course, the real test came when Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond got their hands on it. We just have to wait on those final three Top Gear episodes air.
