Hertz may not be the first company you think of when conversations turn to granting wishes, but the rental company effectively did just that with the launch of its "Dream Car Program".

For a world-renowned car rental company that typically offers the usual cadre of midsize econo-boxes, Hertz'z decision to finally add a list of exotic->ke177 and luxury cars->ke505 to its collection of thrashed rental buckets is the kind of thing that excites Average Joes like us.

With the "Dream Car Program," Hertz is set to offer some pretty interesting models, almost all of which we'd love to get our hands on if only we had the financial resources to do so. There's a Lamborghini Gallardo->ke375, a Porsche 911, a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, and a Ferrari F430., among other exotics.

For only $395, you can get your hands on either a Porsche Boxster or a Tesla Model S. If you've got $1,000 at your disposal, you get to whip an R8 or a Vantage->ke4410. Tack on another $500 and you can level up to the Italian exotics.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to us.

Granted, a lot of car rental companies are already offering supercar rentals like the one Hertz is dipping into, but none of them have the mainstream cache as this company. So, if you're interested in renting any of these exotics, Hertz's rental program will be implemented in 35 markets across the US, including Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Diego. You can see all of the available cars and the markets they are available in on the Hertz Dream Car site.

Audi R8

In the time that the Audi R8 has been around, it has turned into one of the most desirable supercars in the planet. It already looks good on its own merit, but when you add the fact that this model has plenty of starring credentials in numerous movies over the years, you'd be remiss if you didn't think you could be like Tony Stark while driving this 430-horsepower beast on the road.

Porsche 911

As icons, go the Porsche 911 belongs in a separate class reserved just for itself. Not many models, supercar or otherwise, can compete with the history, tradition, and performance credentials of arguably one of the most famous vehicle models in history. Having a 3.4-liter flat-six engine that churns out 350 horsepower to go with a 180-mph top speed doesn't hurt its appeal, either.

Ferrari F430

Despite being long in the tooth like the Gallardo, the Ferrari F430 still commands the same type of respect you'd accord to any car with a Prancing Horse badge. Being a Ferrari affords you that credit, although it doesn't hurt that the F430 packs a 4.3-liter V-8 engine that develops 490 horsepower to go with a 4-second, 0-60 mph time and a 192.6 mph top speed.

SRT Viper

One of the fanciest American sports cars in modern time, the SRT Viper is built to look good while also boasting the power that can give you goosebumps. That typically what happens when you have an 8.4-liter V-10 engine that hits 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, allowing the sports car to hit 60 mph in the low 3-second range while also boasting of a top speed of 206 mph.
