This new concept car is more than just a development for Holden. This year, Holden marks the 50th anniversary of its first victory at the Bathurst, and also its 70 years since it produced its first car. Dubbed the Time Attack Concept Racer, this car has 1,341 horses to power it. However, Holden has no plans to build it! Funny, right?

Heart Of The Matter

This helps produce 1,341 horses and 2,389 pound-feet of torque almost instantaneously, allowing it to sprint to 62 mph in just 1.25 seconds! It was designed to destroy the current Bathurst lap record by completing the 3.85-mile track in less than 1 minute 30 seconds. Of course, it’s just a theoretical concept which also allows 90-second charging and has a top speed of 300 miles per hour.

This Is All So Unrealistic

It uses a lot of technologies that have been banned in Formula One. Advanced aerodynamic surfaces such as a double floor, rubber skirts, fans to create a down-force at low speed, and an active rear wing create a vacuum that glues the car to the track. This means that at on a race track, it can generate up to 6.5 G laterally! In simple terms, it could swing a driver’s neck viciously during a turn.

Conclusion

Holden launched ‘The Holden’ 70 years back. This pick-up truck marked a revolution and a sense of pride in the Ozzy mates. It received huge orders and had a waiting period of over a year. Holden said it revealed the car virtually because Australia no longer has a major motor show. But the automaker will be displaying a scale model of the Time Attack Concept Racer at this weekend’s Bathurst 1000 race.
