For some odd reason, Honda->ke34 seems to have become infatuated with long gestation periods and countless previews before one of their sports models is actually revealed in production guise. First, it was the new 2016 NSX, which was finally revealed under the Acura->ke10 badge at the 2015 North American International Auto Show after eons, and now it is time to finally check out the production variant of an all-new Civic Type-R at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.->ke228 That's right, ladies and gentlemen, this will not be yet another near-production concept of the 2015 Civic Type-R, but the actual production car that you will be able to buy form a Honda dealership. At least this is what Honda says.

Naturally, until we actually get to see the final product, Honda has decided to keep going with the countless teasers, bringing them to an insane level. That couldn't have happened without Honda's marketing creating a special microsite called Redline, where "fans can explore and share Type R content, in order to gain access to exclusive snapshots of the performance hatchback ahead of its debut in Geneva." The website went live on January 28, for an unknown reason. Isn't that cute?

As a refresher, the 2015 Civic Type R will come equipped with a turbocharged, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder with "over 280 horsepower" on tap, and will likely be hungry for a new Nordschleife Nurburgring record for front-wheel-drive cars. With Ford->ke31 also preparing to unveil the 2016 Focus RS -- which may or may not be front-wheel drive -- in the upcoming weeks, it seems that 2015 will be a pretty good year for bonkers hot hatches.
