Holden Special Vehicles revealed the W427on July 23rd, 2008. Production of the car began immediately after its unveiling at Holden's Clayton based facility. Sales of the seven-liter, 375kW ‘Supercar’ began in dealerships around Australia shortly thereafter. The car was limited to only 427 units, with all 80 2008 models pre-sold for $155,500, plus on road costs. The W427 is powered by a 7.0-liter, LS7, V-8 engine that had specific tuning by HSV to deliver 502 horsepower. The engine was mated to a 6-speed, manual, TR6060 high strength transmission.
