The breathtaking Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge is inching closer to production. That's a fact! There's no word when the company will start accepting checks for lightning-fast sedan, but the Japanese automaker have just announced they will be showcasing new footage with the Eau Rouge at the Beijing Auto Show later this month.

Unfortunately, the prototype Infiniti's performance division has been working on the past months won't be displayed during the event, but new details, as well as part of the development process, will be revealed in China. Considering what this vehicle has to offer, we can keep our shirts on for a while longer.

While the manufacturer declined to go into specifics in its latest press blast, it did mention that the sports sedan was put through a series of grueling tests at UK's Millbrook Proving Ground facility.

Trials were carried out by four-time Formula One->ke190 world champion Sebastian Vettel->ke3801, Infiniti's Director of Performance and the man behind the beefed up version of the FX that was launched a few years back. You can see the video of these tests above.

Further info will become available on April 20, so make sure you tune in for the full details.

Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge

Named after the infamous corner of the Spa Francorchamps track in Belgium, the Infiniti->ke36 Q50 Eau Rouge was envisioned as a high-performance sedan that blends Nissan GT-R power with, Formula One, luxury and a comfortable ride.

At first glance, the Eau Rouge sets itself apart from the regular Q50 via its aerodynamic body kit and numerous carbon-fiber components. The concept revealed a unique interior in a body-matching red and black color scheme, aluminum inserts and magnesium alloy shift paddles.

The Eau Rouge's engine bay will be fitted with the exact same engine found in the Nissan GT-R. Infiniti promises that the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-6 unit will deliver 560 horsepower and a 0-to-60 sprint of less than four seconds. Although it will get a seven-speed automatic instead of the GT-R's dual-clutch transmission, the ultra-fast Q50 will retain the supercar's AWD system.
