While perusing the internet we recently came across a patent that had been issued last September to the Chrysler corporation for the "ornamental design for an automobile body." While the document gives no insight as to what is going on beneath the proposed sheet metal, it does grant the American automaker the exclusive rights to produce a vehicle that features each of these design characteristics. The only question that remains is, what will it be used for? It was back in 2005 when Dodge brought back the Chrysler 300->ke937 with a new set of bold body lines built atop a promising rear wheel drive platform, so after five years of seeing the same old sedan, is it time for the car builder to freshen up the looks of their popular full size four door? We think so, and this design concept might just be what they have in mind.

At first the sketches reminded us of the European Opel Insignia->ke2972 with its swept back front end and blistered arches housing a set of split seven spoke rims, but after studying the design a little closer we noticed the classic Chrysler grill as well as the C shaped headlights and tail pipes poking through the rear bumper as well as the unmistakable emblem on the back of the trunk. After all this is the slippery shape of cars to come, with hood that seamlessly blends in with the raked windshield leading into fast back profile with a short trunk overhang for improved aerodynamics. However it was the extremely elevated belt line that made us think 300.
