North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is known to have a taste for fancy luxury cars, and it appears that his latest ride is none other than a Rolls-Royce Phantom. Kim arrived at his meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in the luxury sedan — eagle-eyed observers saw the Rolls-Royce logo on the car’s wheel center caps — prompting speculation that the North Korean president has a new ride to go along with the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman Grand armored limousine that he used during his summit with his South Koran counterpart, Moon Jae-in, earlier this year.

Should we really be surprised that Kim Jong Un rolled up to his meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in a Rolls-Royce Phantom? This is a man, after all, who reportedly owns hundreds of cars, including a wealth of Mercedes models that includes the Maybach Pullman that he was seen using during his summit with South Korean president Moon Jae-in. Apparently, the German automaker is Kim’s favorite car brand, which would explain his love for everything the Silver Arrows makes.

In addition to his massive collection of cars, Kim has his own private plane, called Air Force Un, a snarky reference to Air Force One. He has private runways for Air Force Un. He also owns a top-of-the-line, custom-designed Princess Yacht that former NBA star and Kim BFF Dennis Rodman described as a “cross between a ferry and a Disney boat.” These are just his modes of transportation.

Kim is also known to have 17 palaces scattered throughout North Korea. Her reportedly spends around $30 million importing the finest and most expensive liquors in the world. He smokes, too, though not the Marlboro kind, but on fancy designer cigarettes like Yves Saint Laurent. He owns golf courses, thoroughbred horses, a 1,000-seat private cinema, and a 20,000-piece DVD collection. All that and we still haven’t pointed out the lavish gifts he gives to his wife, family, friends and close associates. So yeah, a brand new Rolls-Royce Phantom is a drop in the bucket for this guy.

The surprising bit is that these purchases are likely violations of United Nations sanctions against his country, which includes bans on sales of luxury goods and automobiles to the government. Apparently, there are loopholes to these sanctions. Either that or Kim just doesn’t care and is more than willing to flaunt his lifestyle to the West.

It does show that the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree. Kim’s father, Kim Jong II, reportedly had personal shoppers who traveled throughout Europe to buy whatever his heart desired, skirting these international sanctions in the process.
