The 24th installment of the James Bond franchise, set to be called "Spectre," will feature an array of eye candy for car enthusiasts, as Jaguar->ke39 Land Rover->ke46 (JLR) announced that three of its special vehicles will appear in the movie. We already knew that Aston Martin's DB10 will be the new "Bond car," but the three JLR models are likely to be equally rewarding for car fans. I say this since these will not be stock vehicles, but ones provided by Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations, which is kind of like a skunkworks team for the British company.

The breathtaking Jaguar C-X75 concept will feature in a car chase through Rome alongside Bond's Aston Martin DB10, with Jaguar->ke39 mentioning that a number of C-X75 models have been built specifically for the film in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering. Unlike the original electric-gas turbine concept car,->ke169 the C-X75 used in "Spectre" will be powered by a supercharged, 5.0-liter, V-8, so expect some old-school exhaust sounds during the chase sequence.

The other two JLR vehicles to make an appearance are a Range Rover Sport SVR and a heavily modified Land Rover Defender, both of which have already finished filming for "Spectre" in Austria. As some of you know, the Range Rover Sport SVR is the fastest and most powerful production Landie ever, but I have a feeling that the Defender will leave a more lasting impression on movie-goers, thanks to its lifted chassis and 37-inch off-road tires.

Why it matters

This is not the first time that JLR has collaborated with the James Bond franchise, but this will likely be one of the most impressive collaborations. For example, a modified Jaguar XKR->ke1725 was used by a Bond villain in 2002's Die Another Day, while an XKR and XJ8 also appeared in the first Bond film featuring Daniel Craig: 2016's Casino Royale. Last but not least, the opening sequence to 2012's Skyfall featured a Land Rover Defender ->ke1858110 double-cab getting thrashed by Bond's partner Eve, while a Jaguar XJ was the vehicle of choice for M, the head of MI6 and Bond's superior. It is expected that most if not all JLR vehicles to be featured in "Spectre" will be driven by villains.

Jaguar C-X75

Originally built to celebrate Jaguar's 75 years of history and introduced at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, the C-X75 concept was at one point destined to go into limited production, albeit without its unique combination of electric motors and micro gas-turbines. Unfortunately, the car remained a concept after Jaguar announced the cancellation of production plans due to the global economic crisis. Powered by four electric motors charged by two micro gas turbines in concept form, the production C-X75 would have featured a boosted gasoline four-cylinder feeding power to just two electric motors. As it happens, the "Spectre" version of the car will get the good old supercharged V-8 found in the F-Type R and other top-of-the-range Jaguars.

Range Rover Sport SVR

The second generation of the Range Rover Sport finally received a version to battle rivals like the BMW X5M and Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG, thanks to JLR's Special Operations. Officially wearing the SVR designation, the fastest and most-powerful production Land Rover ever can allegedly lap the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 8 minutes and 14 seconds, a feature which will probably be very helpful in the upcoming Bond movie. Powered by a supercharged, 5.0-liter, V-8 that generates 550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque, the Range Rover Sport SVR can hit 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds.

Land Rover Defender Big Foot

Even though the Land Rover Defender as we know it will end production in December 2015, just a month or so after "Spectre" is set to reach cinemas, the model will not go without a bang in the Bond movie. Heavily modified for extreme off-roading by JLR Special Operations, the Defender in the film will feature an array of mods that should make it worthy of the "Big Foot" moniker. The truck will feature a bespoke supension system, underbody protection, flood lights on the roof, a heavy-duty winch and 37-inch off-road tires.
