Koenigsegg->ke43 is on a quest to make its One:1->ke4795 hypercar->ke177 the fastest thing on the road, and in pursuit of that goal, the Swedes invaded Japan last month to attack the iconic Suzuka circuit.

We recently featured an in-car video->ke278 of the 2015 Koenigsegg One:1’s trip to Suzuka, showing the mega-horsepower dream-mobile setting a new unofficial track record of 2 minutes, 17.57 seconds without even breaking a sweat.

This second video takes an outside perspective, giving ample view of the composite bodywork and flamboyant aerodynamics as the Swedish meatball slithers its way through the apexes. Expect an up-close walk-around followed by footage from the grandstands as 1,340 horsepower announces its presence with a thundering exhaust note that would make even Thor take notice.

The One:1 obviously did well at Suzuka, but the real goal for Koenigsegg was undoubtedly a fastest lap time at the Nurburgring. The One:1 was scheduled to make an appearance at the infamous German race track this month, but was denied its attempt at setting a new production vehicle record due to recently mandated top-speed limits. You can read about that story here.

2015 Koenigsegg One:1

One-upping the competition in the hypercar world is by no means a simple task, but Koenigsegg somehow managed to set a new benchmark with the One:1. The car’s name comes from its power-to-weight ratio, which sees every horsepower at the rear wheels pushing just a single kilogram of weight. That equates to some truly astonishing performance figures, like a sprint from a standstill to 248.5 mph in 20 seconds. It can also corner, with a max lateral acceleration of 2-Gs. Prices for this technical masterpiece ring in at $2.85 million.
