Last month, Lamborghini->ke44 CEO Stephan Winkelmann confirmed what we already knew would happen at some point: The newly launched 2015 Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SuperVeloce will receive a roadster->ke1418 version. He even went as far as to say that only 500 drop-tops will be built and that dealers worldwide are already taking orders.

Now that the 2016 Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce Roadster is official, the first photos depicting what appears to be Lambo's upcoming supercar->ke177 have surfaced the Interwebz. The pictures come from ShirakiPhoto & Design, which claims to bring us "the first glimpse" of the recently announced SuperVeloce Roadster. Not only does the vehicle in these photos looks authentic, but it's also finished in Blu Glauco, one of the official colors Lambo offers for the Aventador.->ke3624

But is this the real deal?

Although the SV Roadster sports all the body features seen on the standard SuperVeloce, my guess is that these are just (really good) renderings of the supercar. And there are two reasons for that. First, Lamborghini is still testing the SuperVeloce Roadster. Second, it would be way too soon for the drop-top to join the Aventador lineup. If anything, the Roadster would only be ready for either the Frankfurt Motor Show->ke235 in September or the Los Angeles Auto Show->ke211 in November. If you need a third reason, ShirakiPhoto & Design is no stranger to "photoshopping to perfection," as it had demonstrated in numerous tutorials on its website.

Although I have strong doubts that this SuperVeloce Roadster here isn't the real deal, there's no need to be disappointed. We already know the supercar is underway and that it will come with all the mind-boggling performance and state-of-the-art technology of its coupe sibling.

As for the rendering, it's arguably the best rendering of the SuperVeloce Roadster yet and one of the most realistic renderings of any vehicle I've seen in a very long time. If there's one thing that's wrong with it, it would have to be the Blu Glauco exterior. I'm guessing Jordan Shiraki doesn't know that the SV wasn't offered in that color.
