About a week ago I brought you news of a new MSO-customized McLaren P1->ke4608 wrapped in what appeared to be a Superman-inspired livery. It's probably just a coincidence, but MSO just rolled out another P1 that seems to have taken its color scheme from a comic book. This time around, it's Stan Lee's Daredevil, the blind superhero wearing a dark-red suit as he seeks revenge against his father's killers.

This P1 features a two-tone paint combining black and bright red, both of which have nothing to do with Daredevil necessarily, but the way the red accents are positioned on the black background made me browse my comic book collection. Am I the only one picturing Daredevil's horns in the P1's red stripes running from under the headlamps all the way across the front fenders?

Be that as it may, this is by far the most intriguing P1 to come from MSO. Not only is the livery unique, but it provides a striking contrast. Red over black is an attention-grabber no matter the car. When this combination is on a P1, the effect is that much more impressive.

The same theme continues inside the cabin, where bright red adorns the A/C vents, the lower part of the steering wheel, the center stack, and the door panels. As always, the hybrid drivetrain remained unchanged at 903 horsepower and 1,100 pound-feet of torque.

Why it matters

When I saw the Superman-inspired P1 more than a week ago, I had my fingers crossed that more and more P1s go through MSO's shop before meeting their owners. Well, it seems at least one of them did and the result is even crazier. Needless to say, MSO's customizing options are as varied as they get, especially in the paint department. Pardon my French, but this P1 simply makes a red LaFerrari->ke4626 seem dull.
