Romania's Dacia has introduced a light pick-up version based on its Logan sedan. The Logan platform is already used by the company for its wagon and van models.

The new truck is manufactured at the Pitesti plant and is meant for both business users and private motorists requiring a practical leisure vehicle.

The truck is built on the B0 platform developed by the Renault-Nissan Alliance's B platform which is shared by Renault's Modus, Clio II, Clio III and the Nissan Micra. The MCV wagon and van versions also share the same pick-up platform.

Buyers will be able to choose between the 1,6 MPI(petrol) that produces 70HP and the 1.5 dCi(diesel) that produces 85HP.

Payload is 800kg, maximum load length is 1.8m an extra 300 litres of stowage space behind the cabin seats is also provided.

The metal panels on this particular vehicle is protected with wax injection of the hollow sections, sealing mastic protecting exterior cabin joints, and reinforced anti-chip protection for the substructure, all of which add to the sturdy build.

Dacia is encountering corrosion issues on its earlier vehicles and has taken necessary measures to combat the problem on this model. Galvanized roof and door panels come standard, and wide protective door mouldings are available on the options list. The vehicle also features raised suspension height, higher ground clearance, and a protective skid plate under the powertrain for it to perform efficiently even in harsh environments. Dust-proofing system for gearbox and transmissions found on the Logan MCV is also present in this vehicle.

Prices range between between 7,250 and 9,300 euro.
