The second-generation Super Series, more commonly knows as the 720S, was introduced at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show as a successor to the already iconic 650S. One year has passed, and the 720S returns to Switzerland as a showcase car for the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) division. Created to provide customers with almost endless customization possibilities, MSO is now a common option on almost all McLarens. Be it a special paint or bespoke stitching inside the cabin, MSO has left its mark on almost every 720S built to date. And, this supercar finished in Atlantic Blue, showcases both the boundless extent of MSO’s bespoke craftsmanship and the MSO Defined range of personalization choices.

Described as "the deepest of deep blue paint," the exterior finish was created specifically for this car and, on top of having a deep structure, it's also lightly metallic and boasts a unique look. The Atlantic Blue paint is complemented by Dark Palladium accents and glossy, bare carbon-fiber elements on the splitter, around the headlamps, on the front hood, mirror caps, roof, and rear diffuser. The usual chrome window surround was replaced by a Zircon finish, while the stainless-steel exhaust has titanium finishers. The twin-spoke wheels are painted in Graphite Grey and hide black brake calipers.

The interior looks strangely classy for a McLaren thanks to the Saddle Tan leather and the Slate Grey stitching, but the Carbon Black leather and grey Alcantara accents give the cabin a dash of sportiness.

If there's one thing MSO can't do to a McLaren, it's improve its performance. But, this isn't really an issue as the twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V-8 is plenty powerful at 710 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. Charging to 62 mph takes around 2.8 seconds while hitting the 124-mph benchmark happens in less than eight clicks. Top speed is rated at 212 mph, higher than any other Super Series model to date. Pricing? Well, let's just say that MSO bespoke treatment is pretty expensive.
