Forza Horizon 4 is ready to drop in a week’s time, and to celebrate the game’s coming release date, McLaren brought a Senna to the Goodwood Festival of Speed to race with not one, not two, but three 450cc Motocross bikes. The race itself was a sham — the three bikes took shortcuts on the grass wherever they could — but the purpose to build excitement surrounding Forza Horizon 4’s arrival is real. The game this stores on October 2 and will be available to play on the Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.

You know the release of Forza Horizon 4 is fast approaching when the hype train surrounding its arrival goes into overdrive. We see teases of new content. We see promos tied into the game’s purchase. Best of all, we see ad materials like this one.

This is not so much about finding a real winner as it is showcasing the Senna in an environment like Goodwood and having Motorcross bikes acting as worthy foils while they’re in the middle of performing their own stunts. I don’t personally know how that translates to the world of Forza Horizon 4, but it does make for a compelling 100-second ad that culminates with the Senna’s transitioning from the real car racing up to claim the coveted Goodwood parking spot to a virtual version of the same supercar in the world of Forza Horizon 4.

The commercial also offers a brief glimpse into the partnership between McLaren and the video game franchise. The Senna is the cover car of the game, but it’s not the first McLaren to grace the cover of a Forza game. The P1, if you remember, was the cover car of Forza Horizon 4

As I mentioned, the game launches on October 2, though those who were able to order the Ultimate Edition version of the game will get theirs a few days early, specifically tomorrow, September 28. Whatever version of the game you get, there’s a good chance that, by this time next week, there’s going to be a lot of sore thumbs all over the world.
