Ever since the McLaren P1->ke4608 and Ferrari LaFerrari->ke4626 were introduced at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show,->ke228 we wanted to see a drag race between two. It took more than two years for that to happen. Likewise, gearheads have been clamoring to see a test between the newer McLaren 650S->ke4801 and the Ferrari 488 GTB,->ke5071 but that has yet to happen as of this writing. But how about a drag race between the P1 and 650S? Would that be interesting enough?

Sure it would, despite the fact that the 650S would be no match for the 903-horsepower P1. The question here is, exactly how quick is the hybrid->ke147 supercar->ke177 compared to the less powerful, yet still exciting, 650-horsepower 650S. After all, we're talking about two vehicles that are miles apart in terms of pricing, but are separated by less than 300 horsepower.

The video above might answer that question, even though the face-off you're about to see isn't a proper drag race, as there's no timing. It only provides the speed at which the two McLaren'->ke284s cross the finish line, but these numbers as well as the footage are enough to get an idea about how quicker the P1 is. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but let's say that I'm not exactly impressed with the P1. Have a look and tell me what you think in the comments box below.
