McLaren Automotive is no stranger to collaborations with companies from the fashion world, counting Michael Kors, Kimoa, and Le Coq Sportif as fashion brands that it has partnered with in various capacities in the past. Today, the British automaker is adding another brand to that list with the launch of the Belstaff x McLaren Collection in the U.K., Europe, and the U.S. The new fashion collection is the result of the automaker’s new partnership with Belstaff, one of the U.K.’s oldest and famous fashion brands. The collection is small in terms of volume — it includes only 10 male outerwear items and three female pieces — but each item in the collection stands out for its quality and all-around sophistication. The Belstaff x McLaren Collection is available to buy from selected McLaren Automotive retailers worldwide, Belstaff’s global stores and official online sites, as well as selected retail partners.

Extra Style To Pair With A Supercar

It’s a small collection compared to other automaker-fashion label collaborations we’ve seen in the past, but where it lacks in quantity, the Belstaff x McLaren Collection more than makes up for it in quality.

There are a total of 13 items to choose from, including 10 male outerwear items and three female pieces. Each of the items come with Belstaff’s classic sporting touch, and if you know what that means, expect the color palette of the collection to be limited to black with accents of deep navy.

At the heart of the entire collection are a handful of outwear-style jackets. There’s the all-season Belstaff x McLaren 850.S003 Harrington-style jacket that’s made from weatherproof three-layer stretch nylon with heat-sealed seams. It also comes with laser-perforated ventilation to regulate temperature and three hidden on-seam zip pockets: two to the lower front and one on the right forearm. On the surface, it looks like a regular jacket you’d wear when the weather’s nippy. But between the materials that were used and the process behind its creation, this jacket is as well-defined as they come. No wonder it costs £495, or about $650 based on current exchange rates.

In addition to the 850.S003, the Belstaff x McLaren Collection also includes the 950.S001 café racer style men’s leather jacket that’s made from hand-waxed leather. Sounds fancy, right? Well, it features engineered perforation that regulates temperature and underarm jersey panels that allow for increased freedom of movement. It’s only available in black, and it costs £1,195, or almost $1,600. Then there’s the Belstaff x McLaren 850.S002, a weather-proof field jacket that’s available in Black, Dark Shale, or Navy. It’s arguably the most functional of all the times in the collection. It’s made from three-layer nylon with waterproof, heated-seated seams and UV production. It also comes with four front-facing cargo pockets. The jacket is also available in three colors - Black, Dark Shale, or Navy - and it costs £795, or about $1,050 based on current exchange rates.

They’re still regular-looking jackets, but their appearances belie the kind of quality that went into their creation. You can say the same thing for the entire Belstaff x McLaren Collection. They’re pricey as heck, but the quality behind the products justify what you’re being required to pay for them.
