The C-Class is Merc’s best-selling vehicle, offering luxurious compact motoring since 1993. The latest W205 generation was launched in 2014 at the Detroit Motor Show, and now, Merc is sprucing it up at the end of its production cycle with a unique variant dubbed the Nightfall Edition, bringing a new dark-colored exterior treatment and standard AMG interior components, plus a standard sport suspension set-up.

The Full Story
As you might expect, this latest special edition from Merc starts with updates to the exterior styling. Kicking it off is a fresh paint job done up in either Iridium Silver, Selenite Grey, or Obsidian Black metallic. Meanwhile, the wheel package adds a powder-coated matte-black finish, complemented by black covers for the sideview mirrors and new graphics as well. A carbon fiber rear spoiler was also added to the Coupe and Cabriolet models.
Each Nightfall Edition comes standard with the AMG Line equipment package, which includes black ash wood trim and a flat-bottom AMG steering wheel in the cabin, as well as AMG body components and 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels outside. You can also get yours with the optional 19-inch multi-spoke alloys, if desired. A diamond grille with chrome pins is equipped on the Coupe and Cabriolet models.
For an extra 1,695 pounds ($2,290 at current exchange rates, 05/17/2018), buyers can get the Saloon, Estate, or Coupe model with the optional Premium equipment line, adding in ambient lighting for the cabin, the Keyless-Go Comfort package, the Memory package, and a Panoramic glass sunroof. Meanwhile, the 2,995-pound ($4,046 at current exchange rates) Premium Plus package adds an upgraded Burmester surround sound system and the Comand Online infotainment system.
The Nightfall Edition Cabriolet model gets upgraded ambient lighting, Keyless-go Comfort, and the Memory package as standard equipment, while the Premium Plus pack adds the Burmester stereo and Comand Online system for an extra 1,300 pounds ($1,756 at current exchange rates).
As for the performance side of the equation, each Nightfall Edition comes standard with a sports suspension set-up. However, the rest of the oily bits remain unchanged over the standard models.
As a reminder, that includes a turbo 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder making 241 horsepower, with the 0-to-60 mph run completed in roughly 6 seconds. Both RWD and AWD are offered.
The Nightfall Edition is available on all body styles in the range. Pricing starts at 32,565 pounds ($43,989 at current exchange rates) for the C 200 Nightfall Edition Saloon.
