Mercedes has confirmed it will unveil a convertible version of the McLaren SLR this summer. The car will be priced at $470.000 and is supposed to be the world's fastest convertibles, with a 0-60 mph time of around four seconds and a top speed of 200 mph.

There are no images of the car yet, but it will take the design cues from the Vision SLR cabrio concept that was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1999.

it will be powered by the same 5.5 litre V8 engine as the coupe, but the output might be both the standard 626 hp from the coupe or the 650 hp from the 722 special edition recently unveiled.
