Mercedes will recall a number of 5283 2008 C-Class model due to a problem at the rear seat-belt. According to NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) there is an incompatibility between the rear seat-belts and some old models of child seats.

Under certain circumstances, this situation may cause the locking mechanism not to perform as required and this is why mercedes will have to replace them.

The 5283 units will be recalled next week so Mercedes can replace all potentially affected seat belts free of cost.
