Professional race car drivers routinely go in excess of 200 mph. It’s part of their job, as they say. But, for ordinary folks like you and me, 200 mph is no small feat. That’s even true for some of Hollywood’s most daring celebrities, a group that most people say Michelle Rodriguez is a part of. The Fast & Furious star definitely knows her away around cars, but even with her kind of experience around fast cars, driving at 200 mph has yet to be checked off of her bucket list.

To her good fortune, she got the chance to do just that after getting invited by Jaguar to drive the F-Type SVR, the fastest series production vehicle the British automaker has ever built, up to its absolute limit. Rodriguez jumped at the chance to give it a go, which led her to Highway 318 in Nevada, home to the world renowned Silver State Classic Challenge road race. There, the 37-year old actress was given just one edict: try to get the F-Type SVR->ke5234 to hit its top speed of 200 mph. Pretty easy, right?

As “easy” as it sounds, there’s still an element of risk attached to the attempt, hence Jaguar’->ke39s disclaimer that the stunt was “supervised by a professional driver on closed roads”. In the end, none of it mattered to Rodriguez, who not only achieved her goal of going 200 mph - the fastest she’s ever driven a car - but more importantly, she actually hit 201 mph in the F-Type SVR,->ke1224 which is faster than Jaguar’s published top speed for the sports car!->ke506 If that doesn’t scream incredible to you, I don’t know what will.

I guess Jaguar has to set the record straight now. The F-Type SVR can go up to as high as 201 mph. Michelle Rodriguez, of all people, proved that.
