Mopar Pro Shop is Selling A Hellcat Engine for Less Than $15,000!

It's a good deal if you consider all the savings you're going to get

Are you in the market for a 6.2-liter, V-8, crate engine that packs over 700 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque? If the answer is “yes,” then you might be interested in a Mopar 6.2-liter Hellcat SC EFI factory crate engine for sale on moparproshop.com. It’s the real deal, and more importantly, you can buy it for just $14,998! That’s $4,532 less than Mopar’s original asking price!

With more power than you probably have any need for, Mopar’s Hellcat crate engine is going to be a handful regardless of what you put it in. The fact that the Mopar Pro Shop dealership in South Carolina is selling one for almost $5,000 less than it’s original price is just an added bonus. It must be noted, though, that the price does not include the $2,195 engine kit. You’ll need to pony up on extra costs if you want to get that kit and all of its items, which includes a powertrain control module, power distribution center, engine wiring harness, fuel pump control module, and a bevy of other sensors and add-ons. Unless you’re buying the crate engine for the specific purpose of just displaying it, there’s a good chance that you’re going to need to buy the engine kit to properly install the Hellcat powertrain into your desired vehicle.

It’s a small price to pay for the potential benefits of owning one of the most incredible V-8 engines in the world today. That said, there is a catch here. Since the price of the crate engine has been slashed by roughly 20 percent, it stands to reason that there aren’t that many of them that are available. Well, you’d be right if that’s what you’ve been thinking. According to the shop, there’s literally just one left in stock at that price. Better act fast if you want to get a hold of it.

In the event you do buy it, there’s no shortage of the things you can do with the engine. You can display it and never use it, or you can turn it over into the capable hands of an aftermarket tuner and let it do the work of installing the engine into your car. You can do that, or you can hold off on making an impulse buy and wait for whatever new crate engine Dodge has in development. The fact that one Mopar dealership is willing to sell this engine at a discount suggests that the automaker could be developing a new crate engine that will be more powerful than the one it’s offering today.

Given that thinking, don’t be surprised if Dodge is doing just that. More importantly, it could point to the possibility that this “new” crate engine is actually the beating heart of the Challenger SRT Demon.
