Next-Gen Tesla Model S Rendering has us Hopeful for the Future!

Sign us up if this is what the next-generation Tesla Model S looks like

The Tesla Model S has been around since 2012, and while it’s still a few years away from getting a full redesign, a rendering of a next-gen Model S is already making rounds on the Internet. It looks exactly like what we hope the next-gen Model S looks like. Designed by Emre Husmen, the new Model S rendering is far more aggressive and dynamic than the current model that’s on the market today. More importantly, it doesn’t deviate too far away from the current Model S to the point that it becomes unrecognizable. It’s still the Tesla Model S, albeit rendered to look sharper and edgier than what we have now. In other words, it looks fantastic.

For the record, this is not a rendering from Tesla, so don’t get your hopes up just yet. That said, it is a rendering that Tesla should look at because it presents the Model S in an entirely new light. The all-electric four-door saloon gets a much more aerodynamic exterior with aggressive body lines, a sweeping roofline, and lots and lots of sharp edges. You’ll still recognize it as a Model S based on its overall profile, but for the most part, this is what the next-generation version should look like if Tesla wants to give it a more dynamic identity.

The design is a lot busier than the current Model S. The front section features thinner C-shaped headlights that integrate into the bumper. The small front grille remains in its usual configuration, but the front fenders are far more pronounced and looking as if they’re layered into the other body panels. They even extend to the rear in a way that integrates one of the sedan’s curved body lines. The intakes in the lower bumper cut a more aggressive look, too, while the side profile shows a car with a far sportier profile than the current version — it’s almost GT-like. The character lines are the unsung heroes in this rendering, largely because Emre Husmen veered away from using generic and straightforward lines in favor of curved lines that help shape more aggressive shadows on the car. The result speaks for itself.

The rear section also gets wholesale changes, none more prominent than similar C-shaped OLED rear lights. The rear bumper is also more prominent in the rendering and helps create its own space in the vacuum of the overall styling relative to the equally identifiable intakes and the can’t-miss rear diffuser. Whereas the current Model S somehow blends all of it together in a cleaner fashion, this rendering emphasizes each section to make them stand out on their own. It’s a far more aggressive design interpretation that brings new life to the Model S.

The interior looks roughly the same, but Husmen used a lot more leather and contrast stitching to give the Model S a more premium look than the model we have right now. A massive 19-inch curved dashboard display dominates the center console and looks far more imposing than the current version. Two smaller LED screens can be found on opposite ends of the steering wheel.

Husmen’s interpretation of the next-generation Model S comes with Level 5 autonomous driving technology and an “intelligent traction system” that basically allows users to choose between FWD, RWD, and AWD settings. Combine these tech advancements with a car that looks like its ready to be made; it’s no surprise that Husmen’s rendering of the next-generation Tesla Model S is getting a lot of rave reviews. Hopefully, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, is paying attention because if he wants to find a good starting point for his next-gen flagship, Emre Husmen’s rendering is a good place to start.
