According to a fellow who participated in a Lamborghini->ke44 preview, the upcoming LP700-4 is the replacement vehicle for the Murcielago->ke1267 that we’ve been calling the Jota->ke3624. Although he couldn’t snap any photos, he did manage to get some useful information.

Our preview man said that the power would come from a 6.5-liter V12 with 700 horsepower. Not to mention a redline of 8250. That motor would be connected to a seven-speed single clutch transmission with two modes and 50 millisecond shifts. All that will combine for a 0-60 mph time of 2.9 seconds and a 217 mph top speed.

Keeping the car on the road will be a carbon monoque chassis and a Formula One style suspension on the rear. The new Lamborghini will be 229kg lighter and 70% more rigid. Oh, and we forgot that it’s all-wheel drive too.

The man said that the product would be shown at the Geneva Motor Show->ke228 next spring and that those famous scissor doors will remain. While we would love to believe all of this, one never knows. If it’s truth or not, it sure does sound good.
